(Perast 1661 – Korcula 1713)
There are very few known facts of Kokolja life. He was born in Perast 22 July. 1661. god. in a modest bourgeois family.
At baptism were his godfathers Zmajević John, brother of Archbishop Andrew Zmajevcu and Admiral Matija, and Agnes, the mother of a prominent warrior Vicka Bujović. Nothing we did not know about his education. Some are of the opinion that a short spell in Venice at school where he attended the famous school of painting. It is not certain that it is their patron, Archbishop of Bar and Primate of Serbia Andrija Zmajević resided in Rome, whether he visited the Sistine and drew the idea for the painting works at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rocks.
